8 Organic & Eco-Friendly Stalls to Visit at Carriageworks Farmers Market

Every Saturday morning, Carriageworks Farmers Market becomes my little eco-paradise — a place where real food, real farmers, and real sustainability come together.

As someone who lives a low-tox lifestyle and eats organic daily, this market feels like home. I visited with my reusable bags and my AdoreEco bottle in hand, ready to explore the freshest organic and pasture-raised produce Sydney has to offer.

Here are 8 stalls you absolutely must visit if you love organic, ethical, and environmentally conscious living.

Greenhill Farm focuses on animal welfare, soil health, and regenerative agriculture. Their cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished, raised using rotational grazing — which naturally improves soil, increases carbon storage, and supports biodiversity.

  • Certified organic & biodynamic
  • Grass-fed and grass-finished
  • Dry-aged for two weeks
  • Multi-generational family farm
  • Also sells organic seasonal vegetables

Their prices are more affordable because products come directly from the farm — no middleman.

📅 Greenhill Farm comes on the first Saturday of each month and is pick-up only by pre-order, so order ahead!

Hillside Food Forest produces pasture-raised pork, chicken, and beef, with a focus on regenerative farming and soil health.

Their pork is incredibly delicious — once you try it, you won’t go anywhere else. It’s a little more expensive, but truly worth it, and yes, you can order online.

Pepe Saya makes butter the traditional French way — using single-origin cream that’s slowly cultured with lactobacillus and then batch-churned by hand. This fermentation gives it a rich flavour and natural creaminess that supermarket butter can’t match.

Cultured butter is more digestible, more flavourful, and less processed — a beautiful example of how traditional methods can transform a simple ingredient into a nourishing food.

Real butter is a nutrient-rich traditional fat, full of fat-soluble vitamins and healthy fatty acids that support hormone and brain health — especially when it’s made from high-quality cream like Pepe Saya.

Nestled in the lush pastures of Tilba on the South Coast of NSW, this family dairy raises pure Jersey cows whose milk is naturally richer and creamier. Their small-scale, pasture-based approach produces premium milk, cheese, yoghurt, and cream.

I especially love their cream — rich, velvety, and full of real dairy flavour.

Enokido makes miso the traditional way using organic, non-GMO Australian ingredients, naturally fermented and packed in glass (not plastic).

Glass is non-reactive, doesn’t leach chemicals, and keeps miso fresher for longer. It’s also endlessly recyclable — a perfect low-tox, sustainable choice.

Kootingal Pecan Company produces certified-organic pecans grown with sustainable farming methods in regional NSW.

Their nuts are “activated” — soaked and gently dehydrated — making them easier to digest and more nutrient-available. They taste incredibly clean, buttery, and fresh.

A perfect snack for anyone living a low-tox and whole-food lifestyle.

Hilltops raises hens in a genuine pasture-raised system, meaning the chickens roam freely outdoors, eating grass, bugs and natural forage.

The yolks are deeper in colour, richer in flavour, and the eggs arrive incredibly fresh thanks to their short farm-to-table process.

This is how eggs are meant to be.

Hand ’n’ Hoe is a certified organic macadamia farm that’s been farming organically for more than 25 years using permaculture methods.

Everything — from kernels to macadamia butter — is grown without pesticides or synthetic chemicals. I especially love their macadamia butter and macadamia oil. Clean, rich, and beautifully flavourful.

Here’s what I bought on my visit on 5th December 2025

  • Beef brisket, tendon, heart, tongue, liver & bones (Greenhill Farm – certified organic & grass-fed)
  • Garlic & eggs (Greenhill Farm)
  • Brown rice miso (Enokido Miso – glass packaged)
  • Activated organic pecans & pecan oil (Kootingal – certified organic)
  • Butter & clotted cream (Pepe Saya)
  • Tilba cream (Tilba Dairy – pasture-based)
  • Macadamia butter & macadamia oil (Hand ’n’ Hoe – certified organic)
  • A large cold delivery order from Hillside Food Forest (pasture-raised)

🌎 Why it matters

Shopping at Carriageworks reminds me why I chose a sustainable lifestyle. When you support local farmers, eat seasonal foods, and reduce chemical exposure, your health transforms — and so does the planet.

If you’re trying to live more sustainably in 2026, start here. Bring your reusable bags, your water bottle, and an open heart. The market will do the rest.

I always bring my stainless-steel Sonic Bottle because it keeps my morning chai warm and my veggie juices cold for hours. Sustainability begins with small everyday choices — and they all add up.🌿💚
